Ronaldo watching the World Cup at home

The Phenomenon who has been watching the World Cup in the comfort of his own home, has said that he was happy with Brazil’s performance against North Korea. Ronaldo recalls that in 2002 World Cup, Brazil started off with the same result against Turkey. In that year, Ronaldo and Brazil won the World Cup.

“In 2002 the result was the same against Turkey. Let it go. Congratulations to my friends from the selection. There are six games,” said Ronaldo in support of his fellow countrymen after they conceded a goal to North Korea.

Legendary Striker Ronaldo Tells Felipe Melo - Don't Come Back To Brazil

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo has told Felipe Melo not to return home for his summer holidays following his part in the Selecao's World Cup exit.

Felipe Melo better not come to Brazil for his holidays," Ronaldo said via his Twitter.

"I don't understand the lack of communication between Melo and Julio Cesar. When he comes out Julio always shouts, but this time both men went for the ball," added Ronaldo commenting the own goal.

"To my friends with sympathies, it's a difficult time, but you guys are warriors. [World Cup] 2014 will be he soon and we will have a great one," concluded 'O Fenomeno'

Klose concedes defeat in record goals hunt

njured Mirsolav Klose was forced to surrender his pursuit of World Cup goal-scoring history on Saturday, but record-holder Ronaldo still praised the German striker's achievements.

The 32-year-old Klose missed the 3-2 win over Uruguay which gave his country third place the World Cup and with it the opportunity to score the two goals he needed to pass the Brazilian's all-time World Cup best mark of 15.

"He really wanted to play, but after training on Saturday he said to me that would not be able to take his place in the team," said Germany coach Joachim Loew, who handed Klose's starting place to Cacau.

"He was disappointed but he knew that we couldn't allow a player who was only 80-percent fit to take part."

The Bayern Munich star, who had been suffering from a back injury, stayed on the bench on Saturday with his World Cup goals record stalled at 14, a total made up of five at the 2002 and 2006 finals and four in South Africa.

Klose will be 36 by the time the next World Cup rolls around in 2014 and so is unlikely to feature again.

Ronaldo, who collected his 15 goals at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Cups, praised Klose's career.

"Congratulations to Klose, to score 14 goals at the World Cup is fantastic. It's sad that he did not play on Saturday," said the Brazilian.

"I was not opposed to him breaking my record. I have made my history. Now it is time for others to write their stories.

Honestly I was sad for Klose. he isn't the show-off type of player. he's very down to earth, humble and a team player, unlike many of the actual primma donnas.

Corinthians coach Mano Menezes was named today for his country top Job. His first decision will be to choose the squad that will face USA in the coming weeks. Will we see Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos joining their coach in New Jersey ?! I wish so... I will go to NJ just to watch the game !

NB: Thanks Maroun for this thread.. I follow your updates regularly.

Ronaldo returns to training after two months

Ronaldo returned to training on Wednesday after suffering a calf injury just before the World Cup. However, there has been no set date on when Ronaldo will be fit enough to feature in any of the games.

I would imagine that Ronaldo will take a few weeks to fully recover and regain match fitness. He hasn’t played since May 9th and hasn’t been in the same form he was last season
